Open the Firebase console
Go to console.firebase.google.com and sign in with your Google account.
Create a project
- Click Get started by setting up a Firebase project (in some consoles, Create a project or Add project).
- Type a name — your app's name is fine.
- Tick I accept the Firebase terms and click Continue.
- Google Analytics is optional for push notifications. Leave it on or switch it off, then click Create project.
- When it says Your new project is ready, click Continue.
Add your Android app
On the project's home page, under its name, click the Android icon.
- Type your Android package name — exactly the one in your app (its
applicationId) and in PusherHub. The nickname is optional, and you don't need the SHA-1 for push. - Click Register app.
- Click Download google-services.json.
- Put that file in your Android project's
appfolder — in Flutter and React Native,android/app. - Click Next through the remaining steps and Continue to console. PusherHub's SDK steps cover the rest.
Add your iOS app (if you have one)
- Back on the project's home page, click Add app › the iOS+ icon.
- Type your Apple bundle ID — the same as in Xcode and in PusherHub — and click Register app.
- Click Download GoogleService-Info.plist and drag it into your Xcode project, next to
Info.plist, with your app's target ticked.
iPhones need one more step — your Apple push key: iOS push notifications: add your Apple push key to Firebase.
